Trip to Batavia (Jakarta)

Friday, 16 November 2018

I've been waiting for that day from a month ago. That night I had my trip to Batavia which known for Jakarta. This trip is my second trip to Jakarta and I had prepared everything. I booked the hotel from 3 weeks ago, ( wait..., it's not hotel but a hostel) the hostel named The Packer Lodge located in Kemurnian Street near Mangga Besar. This trip is different from the trip I had before. This time I went to Jakarta from Kediri and I took Majapahit train which scheduled at 21.18. I supposed to arrive in Jakarta about 10 morning but since there are some troubles during the trip I arrived in Jakarta about 12 o'clock.

Soto Betawi

The first place I visited is Soto Betawi near Kampung Melayu station. This is the first time I tried Soto Betawi and it is very satisfying. I'm not good in describing food but all I'm sure about is this meal is very worth it to try. It is savory and a bit sour. I ate the Soto with asinan. After a very good meal for lunch I went to Cikini and tried Mie Ayam Gondangdia which also very satisfying for me. Next, I went to Jakarta Theater in Taman Izmail Marzuki to watch a show called Bunga Penutup Abad. I've been dreaming to watch this drama and I'm so lucky that I finally watched it. This drama is taken from Pramoedya Ananta Toer's Novel Bumi Manusia and I gave a big applause to Marsha Timothy who became Nyai Ontosoro.

For the Next day I began my day by visited Bakmi Ahau. I'm not into this kind of Noodle but I guess this Bakmie is fine. I'll give it 3 from 5. FYI, this is not halal food. Even though It looks like I'm there for Food traveling but actually I have some places to visit too. One great moment that I'll not forget is on the Sunday Evening I went to Cathedral and joined to the Mass. It was incredible. I'm in love with the architecture. moreover, My heart is melted when I see the bird flew into the church and sang together with the choir. When the mass is over I went to a place which sold a porridge and egg called Telor seribu tahun. This time I rated 3.5 from 5. which mean I like to eat it one more time when I'm in Jakarta for the next time.

Baby Walk

Like a pro

The following day is the day which I waiting for. On Monday I went to Mall Taman Angrek to try ice skating for the first time. I was so excited but to be honest when I saw some people walk like penguin on the ice I felt nervous and I wish I could pass this day without embarrassing myself. I was so scared and happy at the same time. I barely walked with my ice skating shoes ( not on the ice) I was afraid to fall at that time. when My foot stepped on the ice I cannot lie that felt like I lost my balance. I held the bar and tried to find my balance back about 30 minutes then I tried to walk about 30 minutes too. in conclusion, I spent about 1 hours to practice before I can run on the ice like a pro (nah.... I'm not that Professional) moreover, I fell about 2 times before I finally ran on the ice.

My last day in Jakarta, I decide to looking for some souvenirs but since me and my boyfriend didn't know where to buy the local souvenir in Jakarta, He brought me to Taman mini Indonesia where I took a picture in cactus house and took a picture with birds in bird house. these 3 days in Jakarta was so swell, so groovy. I hope I can back to Jakarta again with new experience. My trip ended with a warm hug and a horn of the train as sign that the train is ready to bring me back to Kediri.
